Accreditation Module 1.2-NZ: Legislation as it Affects Research in New Zealand - Online

Module - online via LMS

Research organisations are subject to a wide range of legislative requirements, depending on the organisation’s specific activities. They are expected to know which laws apply to them and to have measures in place to ensure compliance with those laws.

Legislation as it Affects Research in New Zealand looks at the most common legislative frameworks affecting research in New Zealand. The module covers the essential elements that a research manager needs to know about legislation as well as the types of legislation, jurisdictional issues, understanding legislation and the legal status of research institutions. The module includes specific mention of the Treaty of Waitangi in legislation.

It also covers general legislative obligations in research as well as research specific and project specific legislation. Independant exercises are also included in the online module.

Delivered online via the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS), this module is designed to support flexible, self-paced learning.
