Monash University Malaysia

In acknowledgment of the indispensable role played by our Research Administrators, the Monash University Malaysia (MUM) School of Engineering (SoE) and School of Information Technology (SoIT) recently celebrated International Research Administrators Day. The event coincided with our school retreat which were held from the 25th-27th September 2023 in Sunway Lost World of Tambun (theme park) which is about 2 hours away from our campus.  In a heartening gesture, the School's Management presented a thoughtful token of appreciation to the dedicated research management professionals during the welcoming speech onsite. This gesture aimed not only to acknowledge their hard work and dedication but also to symbolize the profound impact they have on the success of the school's research initiatives.

We are honoured to share a photo of our team alongside our Head of School (HoS), dHoS (Research), and Senior School Manager. Our Head of School soaring to new heights in red, setting the bar high for inspirations and achievements in Research.

James Cook University Singapore

At JCU Singapore, Belinda Lee is the face and embodiment of Research Support. Belinda received her ARM(F) accreditation in 2021.  As it turns out, 25 September was mid-way between the autumn equinox and the autumn full moon, which marks the mid-autumn festival. This is a time when people gather to admire the moon while eating mooncakes. Importantly, the mid-autumn season is traditionally a time of appreciation and giving thanks.

Going with a seasonal flavour in our approach we showered Belinda with love and mooncakes in recognition of her valued professional service. #RESEARCHADMINISTRATORDAY

University of New England

The Graduate Research School (GRS) at the University of New England held a morning tea for Research Administrators Day. We invited postgraduate students to come along and join us for tea/coffee, some yummy food and cheerful conversation. The sun was shining so we were able to hold the event outdoors, which was lovely. We aim to hold a morning tea every few months for GRS staff and HDR students to engage, and this was the perfect excuse to do so.

University Technology Sydney

On Wednesday 27th September (two days after the official Research Administrators Day), the University Technology Sydney RES Hub was buzzing with appreciation for research support as we gathered to celebrate the outstanding contributions of those who enable research at our university.

More than 80 individuals from across the university gathered from 8 to 10 am with an amazing spread of breakfast items - croissants, egg quiches, pecan pie, and coffee – for a moment to enjoy both the food and the camaraderie among colleagues with a shared purpose.

The event aimed to recognise the ongoing time, effort, and expertise these professionals invest in their roles. They serve behind the scenes as the crucial link between academic research at UTS and practical applications in the real world.

Their commitment and expertise continue to be instrumental in establishing and maintaining vital connections within our research community. For those who weren’t able to make it on the day a sweet keep sake exclaiming ‘We Love Your Work’ and ‘We Just Wanted to Say Thank You’ were delivered to their workspaces.
