Research Impact SIG:
Monday 20 June 2022 11AM AEST

The ARMS Research Impact Special Interest Group holds monthly networking sessions.

The next session is Monday 20 June at 11AM AEST (Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra).

Each month we’ll have a discussion topic to frame the conversation. The aim of the sessions is for our community to meet and share ideas.

Join us in June for the ARMS Impact SIG networking session on the THE Impact Rankings. We’ve got a terrific group of speakers from the UK’s THE and Australian Universities that excelled in the impact rankings in 2022. They will share their experiences, including their preparations for the rankings submission, lessons learned, and advice to other Universities who wish to demonstrate their commitment to the SDGs.

Duncan Ross is the Chief Data Officer for Times Higher Education, helping to create new and innovative data products across the HE sector.  As part of this role he developed the THE Impact Rankings – the leading international ranking dedicated to understanding how universities are progressing in delivering the UN Sustainable Development Goals. He was listed in the 2022 DataIQ 100 Most Influential People in Data, and was the founder of DataKind UK, a charity supporting the ethical use of data. Prior to joining THE, Duncan was Director Data Science at Teradata, with a remit across all industries and the entire international region (EMEA and APAC). He leads the national Challenging Racism Project based from Western, delivering impactful research that has underpinned national racism strategies, as well as award winning interventions. His research has highlighted the culturally and spatially uneven distribution of citizenship in Australia.
