Senior Research Projects Management Officer (HEO7)
· Full-time, continuing appointment based in Research and Innovation Services at Mawson Lakes campus
· Salary range: $88,634 - $99,510 per annum (plus up to 17% superannuation)
· Provide strategic & operational support for research related contracts
The University of South Australia is Australia’s University of Enterprise. Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides support for the management of research and administers internal and national competitive research grants and projects. The Research Projects Management Team provides strategic and operational support to the Director/Deputy Director RIS, by supporting researchers in project start-up, management and reporting and through the continuous improvement of systems and processes to support the project lifecycle.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager: Research Projects Management, you will provide institutional oversight to all aspects of post award research grants and projects administration, including the provision of high level interpretation, advice and guidance on funding rules and regulations relating to research grant and contract activity.
Core Responsibilities
· develop, implement and maintain efficient and effective research project management processes and procedures
· engage with the Contracts Establishment Team to ensure seamless and timely handover at project start-up
· oversee all aspects of post award project administration including monitoring contract performance
· coordinate, review and submit progress, financial and final reports
· support researchers with requests for project variations and transfers
· as a senior team member, you will mentor and support other team members to achieve Unit goals
Essential Skills and Experience
· demonstrated experience managing corporate data within a complex operational environment involving multiple stakeholders and interconnected systems
· demonstrated experience in interpreting and understanding financial documentation and reporting
· demonstrated experience in overseeing the delivery of research projects within the higher education sector
· an excellent record of achievement in leading, coordinating and integrating customer focussed service delivery across multi-functional teams and units
· highly developed interpersonal skills, including developing and coaching colleagues to ensure a cohesive team-based, client focussed approach to the delivery of services
