Dr Amanda Cleaver has worked in the university sector since 2002, spanning her career as a student, postdoctoral researcher, Research Development Advisor, Project Manager and Research Foundation Director. This includes working with students, researchers, administrators, and leadership executives, and University processes and systems.

She is passionate about the research management profession, and working with researchers, federal and state government, not-for-profit organisations, institutes, and industry to achieve the best research outcomes and impact for the benefit of the wider community. This includes the development of the research management sector, where professionals from many different career backgrounds are bringing their experience and skills to continuously improve and advance research management strategy and practices.

Dr Cleaver is a strong and confident communicator, and a member or Executive Officer on seven committees and boards. She is the Director of the Raine Medical Research Foundation (UWA), where she works with the Board to ensure financial growth through investments, partnering, and fundraising, and the development of strategic priorities and funding programs in line with the Mission and Values of the Foundation.

Dr Cleaver has Masters of Business Administration (Distinction) and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). She has also completed the ARMS Advanced Level accreditation course and has a thorough understanding of the local, national, and international research landscapes and current issues and trends affecting the research sector.

Dr Cleaver has experience in influencing and advising across boards and committees and would like to offer her experience and passion, for the benefit of all ARMS members.
