I started my career in research management in the Research Development Team for Health and Medical Science at UWA. Prior to this role, I worked as a research academic in Marine Biology for over a decade, so it was quite a big change! Luckily, I quickly realised how much I enjoy talking to researchers about their work, helping develop their proposal ideas and research funding strategies and teaching grant writing skills. I have studied and worked at nine different universities and research institutes in five different countries, so bring a broad perspective and understanding of the needs of research-intensive academics across different settings.

I look forward to being on the WA ARMS Chapter Committee and expanding my networks in the sector. WA faces unique challenges and advantages; I would be interested in exploring how we can work collaboratively across institutions to strengthen our position nationally.
