Ieuan is the manager of the Post Award team in the UWA Office of Research. The Post-Award team has overall responsibility for management and administration of research grants and contracts, including: acceptance of grants; negotiation and execution of funding agreements and associated subcontracts; grant agreement variations and reporting.

In addition to the responsibilities of post award function within the university Ieuan is also one of the leads on the management of our online Research Management System (RMS). The UWA RMS is a combined system covering Pre and Post award grants as well as ethics.

Prior to the current role Ieuan was the Senior Advisor (Research Infrastructure & Partnerships). This role was still within the UWA Office of Research, but rather than focusing on the managment of the UWA Research Infrastructure Centres. This built on a previous 7 years as part of the UWA research grants team, that was responsible for both the Pre and Post award functions of research management including associated contracting.

The previous and current role as given Ieuan a broad knowledge and understanding of research grants management within the Higher education sector of Australia.

Before Joining the Office of Research at UWA, Ieuan worked for the International Mining for Development Centre which supported developing nations to transform their extractive resource endowments into inclusive and sustainable economic and social development; and prior to that Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Products Ltd as a Reagent Production Chemist, producing Immunoassay testing kits for the global market.
