Micro-Training Webinar with Kelli McIntosh

How do you ensure Aboriginal health research is ethical, culturally strong, community-led, and genuinely makes a difference?

Join Kelli McIntosh, Head of the Kulunga Aboriginal Unit at The Kids Research Institute Australia, for an exclusive micro-training webinar for ARMS WA Chapter members, grounded in real-world experience and best-practice standards.

Kulunga is The Kids’ core Aboriginal Unit, working at the intersection of researchers, Aboriginal communities, and organisations to ensure research meaningfully contributes to closing the gap in health and wellbeing for Aboriginal children and families. With many years of partnership-driven work, Kulunga has developed the Guidelines for the Standards for the Conduct of Aboriginal Health Research, supported by a complementary training program now widely recognised across the sector.

In this practical and engaging session, Kelli will step through key elements of these Guidelines, providing clear guidance and insights on:

  • Aboriginal governance and relationships
  • Developing strong, community-responsive research questions
  • Proposal development, funding, and governance
  • Ethics, data collection and safety, analysis, reporting, translation, and evaluation

Whether you support research, review proposals, manage contracts, or work alongside researchers and communities, this webinar will build your confidence, capability, and cultural understanding when working on Aboriginal health research projects.

Not to be missed — practical, principled, and directly relevant to your role.
