Jodi McLean has tri-sector experience working within industry, government agencies, and university, providing her with a unique understanding of each sectors’ needs, and the ability to engage effectively with all. This has included working as industry-based researcher, recommending and monitoring research projects for funding organisations, and supporting researchers to seek funding at a university.

 

Currently, Jodi is the Chief Operating Officer at the Soil Cooperative Research Centre (Soil CRC) whose head office is based at The University of Newcastle.

 

Jodi is an executive leader with over 26 years’ management experience, and an additional 23 years at board and committee level positions level across 15 organisations. Therefore, Jodi has proven relevant accountability and success spanning small to large organisations, with extensive experience in establishing and managing multi-stakeholder operations and programs in both profit and not-for-profit organisations. This has included leading people in the delivery of impactful research and development programs, working in supply chains, and training the workforce.

Jodi has tertiary qualifications in science and management and is also accredited Research Manager, Foundation with ARMS and an accredited Partnership Broker with the International Partnership Brokers Association. 

As Jodi is passionate about rural and regional Australia, she is a keen advocate for enabling access to resources and activities that are commonplace in our cities. Overall, Jodi encourages actions that will benefit Australia to increase its sustainability and profitability. This can be achieved through promoting and building strong collaborations between the university sector, government, industry, and the wider community. She recognises that an important part in achieving this, is delivered through the membership of ARMS.

Jodi has been an active ARMS member since 2013 and joined the ARMS NSW Chapter Committee in 2023.
