Joanna Das is a Senior Research Advisor (Pre-Award) at the University of Western Australia, with over a decade of experience in higher education research management across Australia, the UK, and France. She has eight years of specialist expertise in external funding, supporting academics across disciplines to secure competitive grants, including Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Australian Research Council, UK Research and Innovation, and industry-funded projects.
Previously, Joanna held senior research development roles in the UK and Europe, supporting academics across the full grant lifecycle. Her experience spans pre award funding strategy, bid development, researcher training, and complex multi partner submissions, as well as post award support for large scale international research programmes, including governance, stakeholder coordination, and management of multimillion pound budgets in sectors such as health and energy. She is recognised for her strengths in grant development, process optimisation, and stakeholder engagement, and has introduced streamlined systems and workflows to improve efficiency and transparency.
