With the generous support of RMIT University, ARMS is proud to once again co‑deliver the prestigious Paul Taylor Award, recognising excellence in research and innovation support.
The award honours the legacy of Dr Paul Taylor, a highly respected Research Management Professional at RMIT University. Dr Taylor, who passed away suddenly in November 2018, was internationally recognised for his visionary leadership and commitment to research integrity.
The award celebrates individuals and teams whose work has made a meaningful and lasting impact on the research and innovation ecosystem.

This award celebrates individuals and teams who have made a significant impact in advancing research and innovation support.
The award categories include:
- Innovation in research management.
- Leading change.
- Service excellence.
- Education and Training.
What funding is available?
Two (2) awards of up to AUD $1,500 each may be granted to eligible ARMS members to support their attendance to the ARMS 2026 Perth Conference, 09-11 September 2026.

KEY TIMELINE:

| Friday, 24th of April 2026 | Call for applications: To all ARMS members to be featured in the e-newsletter and via e-blast to members. |
| Monday, 22nd of June 2026 | Closing date for Applications – COB 5PM AEST - Applications to be submitted to the ARMS Membership Officer – ARMSMembership@researchmanagement.org.au All applications received will be acknowledged by email. |
| 23rd of June – 3 July 2026 | ARMS Executive Office to submit applications to the Evaluation Committee for assessment. |
| By 10 July 2026 | Evaluation Committee to meet to review applications and to finalise recommendations. A reserve list to also be considered by the Evaluation Committee. |
| By 17 July 2026 | ARMS Board to endorse the recommendations made by the Evaluation Committee (including those on the reserve list). Once all recommendations have been endorsed by the ARMS Board, successful applicants will be notified of their outcome. Unsuccessful applicants will be advised once all awardees have accepted their offer. |
| 9-11 September 2026 | Presentation of all award recipients at the ARMS Melbourne conference. |
| By Friday, 23 October 2026 | Post conference article in Up in ARMS – To be produced by RMIT University |
