Overview
ECU is seeking someone with strong policy experience and a background in research to provide high-level advice to support decision-making at the University and manage the implementation of a range of University-wide strategic projects and priorities on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research). You will provide high quality, research-informed briefings and strategic advice to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and other senior research leaders across the University. 
 

To succeed in this role, you must have experience in research strategy development and have excellent writing and analytical skills in order to develop, implement and monitor strategic plans and initiatives. You must have a thorough understanding of the Australian university research policy environment and the drivers impacting research in a State, National and International context and be able to make strategic recommendations in an environment with tight deadlines.
You will also be capable of driving initiatives on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and have the ability to effectively coordinate and implement University-wide projects. This role has one direct report.
 

An understanding of how research governance and research excellence monitoring occurs within a University would be an advantage.
 

You must be a strong team player with good analytical and organisational skills. You will be an exceptional communicator, with the ability to communicate effectively to a range of people across all parts of the University.
 

You must also be able to demonstrate personal attributes consistent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.
 

Benefits & Remuneration
This ongoing, full-time position attracts an annual salary of $118,777 - $124,214 plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
