Professor Garry Allison
Curtin University

Professor Garry Allison is the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Excellence at Curtin, where he leads the institutional strategy for research excellence, including research students. Professor Allison was formerly the Faculty Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin and he is a Professor of Neurosciences and Trauma Physiotherapy.

Kathleen is a career and talent management consultant with extensive career consulting, leadership development and business coaching experience.  She has extensive skills and expertise in career development and management in the Tertiary and Private sector, with current knowledge and understanding of career challenges, employability and market trends. Having successfully transitioned through 3 major careers: Research Scientist, Pharmaceutical Industry Professional, Career/Talent Management, she understands the challenges and rewards to pursuing your career goals and loves helping others to identify their ideal careers, and assist them to reach their goals.  Passionate about making a difference, Kathleen has been involved in a number of research initiatives at Curtin University with an aim to improve employability capabilities for students in the secondary and tertiary sectors.

Karen Thompson

Karen is an experienced business leader, marketing professional and mentor who loves helping individuals and organisations develop and grow. She has led recruitment teams in marketing and the creative space; business support; and engineering and resources. A renowned connector in the Perth business community, she has been helping people with their careers for more than thirty years.

Karen was involved in establishing Murdoch University’s Executive Education Centre in 2010 which designed and delivered leadership and management programs for professional and technical staff, aimed at building capability, confidence and courage. In 2020, Karen founded Communicate U, to help people understand, position, communicate and amplify their personal and/or professional brand.

Curtin University

Katie Flanagan is the Research Excellence Lead at Curtin, where she is responsible for the Graduate Research School and a range of strategic development initiatives to enhance Curtin’s research capacity, underpinned by data analytics and benchmarking. Katie has worked in a range of research administration and leadership roles at Curtin, and has a background in international relations and diplomacy.


CPD: Accredited members (ARMAs and ARMFs) will automatically accrue 1 CPD hour per session.

ARMS CANCELLATION POLICY

Should your circumstances change, and you are unable to attend this workshop, you must contact the arms.adminofficer@flinders.edu.au by no later than 10 working days prior to the commencement of the scheduled event. ARMS will refund the full registration fee minus any administrative fees.

Should you cancel less than 10 working days prior to the commencement of this workshop, no refund will be payable but instead you may wish to send a proxy.

ARMS reserve the right to cancel, postpone or re-schedule courses and events due to minimum numbers not being reached or for other unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a cancellation, ARMS will aim to advise all participants in writing five (5) days prior to the scheduled event and will refund the full registration fee including administrative charges within 30 days after notification.
