Managing burnout is everyone's responsibility: Contributing factors, comparisons with other professions and possible actions.
Please join us to learn more about the findings of the recent Burnout in Research Administrators Survey, led by Kosta Tabakakis (University of Otago) highlighted the prevalence of burnout among research administrators, with 68.3% of respondents reporting having experienced personal burnout.
During this PD Sessions @ Zoom hosted by the QLD/NT/PNG Chapter, Janice Besch will provide an overview of the findings of the survey, and Dr Bryony Wakefield will discuss hybrid and remote workplace environments and approaches to establishing healthy working practices. Finally, Prof Gordon Parker will provide an overview of the Sydney Burnout Measure, what it tells us and what we can do about burnout

Currently Chief Executive Officer Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine. A part-time engagement, this allows her to also advance her own projects and work with others toward the strategic advancement of Australia’s research and innovation sector.
Dr Bryony Wakefield
University of Melbourne
As Director, Research Support & Evaluation, Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne, Bryony leads a team to enable health research and researchers. She holds an Adjunct Faculty position at Johns Hopkins University, teaching into the MS in Research Administration.
Prof Gordon Parker
University of New South Wales
Professor Gordon Parker AO is Scientia Professor of Psychiatry, UNSW, was Founder of the Black Dog Institute and its initial Executive Director, Head of the School of Psychiatry at UNSW and Director of the Division of Psychiatry at Prince of Wales Hospital.
CPD: Accredited members (ARMAs and ARMFs) will automatically accrue 1 CPD hour per session.
