The Advanced Clinical Research Management elective will cover the challenges of managing multi- sites, multi-institutional projects including: navigating research ethics, research governance, improving community and consumer engagement and building relationships with external funding bodies.

The workshop will cover key processes and strategies in business development, project and team management in the clinical research setting. Participant learn practical and essential skills for effective and active business development and clinical research management. Participants will develop two documents as part of post workshop assessment:

  • The institution clinical research business development plan/strategy
  • A clinical research study start-up check list/flow chart to assist their researchers

Pre-requisites

The Winter School has no formal pre-requisites for the electives featured in the 2020 program. The electives are intended for:

·         Mid-senior level research management staff interested in developing a deep, practical understanding of the topics; and

·         ARMFs - ARMS Accredited Research Managers (Foundation) or ARMAs - Accredited Research Managers (Advanced) seeking to broaden their practical understanding of the topics - Note: ARMFs and ARMAs can claim CPD hours if completing an elective.

Pre-reading

Each Winter School elective has a list of suggested pre-reading materials that is documented in the prospectus and also attached to the Event Purchase Notification (Confirmation email). The pre-reading list will also serve as a future resource list for participants.

Assessment

At the end of the workshop, participants will be invited to complete a non-compulsory assessment.

Those participants who wish to enrol in a future cohort of the Advanced Level Accreditation Program (ALAP) are strongly encouraged to successfully complete this assessment as this will count as credit towards the ALAP, provided enrolment commences within the next two years.  

Cost:
ARMS Members: $550 per elective (GST inclusive) - Price will be discounted in the Shopping Cart.
Non-Members: $650 per elective (GST inclusive)

CPD: Accredited members (ARMAs and ARMFs) will automatically accrue 8 CPD hours per elective.

ARMS CANCELLATION POLICY

Should your circumstances change, and you are unable to attend this workshop, you must contact the arms.adminofficer@flinders.edu.au by no later than 10 working days prior to the commencement of the scheduled event. ARMS will refund the full registration fee minus any administrative fees.

Should you cancel less than 10 working days prior to the commencement of this workshop, no refund will be payable but instead you may wish to send a proxy.

ARMS reserve the right to cancel, postpone or re-schedule courses and events due to minimum numbers not being reached or for other unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a cancellation, ARMS will aim to advise all participants in writing five (5) days prior to the scheduled event and will refund the full registration fee including administrative charges within 30 days after notification.
