As a not for profit organisation, ARMS is built on a shared vision which is encapsulated in the tagline “Enabling Global Research Excellence”. Our success is the result of our many member volunteers who generously contribute their skills, knowledge and expertise all for the betterment of the profession and the fulfilment of our strategic priorities.
The Society is now calling for nominations from members who are passionate about the research management profession and have the time and commitment to serve on the Board of ARMS.

INTERESTED? If so, here are three (3) more good reasons to consider a nomination:
- Enables opportunities for refinement and enhancement of personal skills;
- Helps to build professional networks domestically and internationally; and
- Provides fulfilment that comes from building the profession.
And, if this is not enough enticement, here are some testimonials from past Board members worth considering:
“My time on the ARMS board broadened my understanding of the many facets of good practice research management and its evolution throughout Australasia. I felt a great sense of achievement in being able to contribute to good governance, strategy and policy.
I have very fond memories of working closely with my colleagues on the board. Getting to know them and their career experiences and pathways has been great insight into the variety of opportunities that we have in research management.” Dr Marina Delpin, Manager Research Projects Development, Research and Innovation, University of South Australia.
“There are many ways to contribute to the growth of our research management profession. I’ve been fortunate to hold two terms as an ARMS general board member and highly recommend it. Being a board member gives you the opportunity to bring your passion for the profession, expertise and commitment to giving time, energy and being an active listener.
Board members bring a wide range of perspectives, and balance their experiences with impartiality, level-headed decision making, adaptability and respect for others. That may sound challenging, but the joy of working on the board is the people you work with and the contribution you make to the Society”. Dr Bryony Wakefield, Director, Research Development, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at University of Melbourne
"During my time on the ARMS Board I had an immensely rewarding experience because of the deep personal connections you gain with a variety of research management leaders in Australasia and across the globe. Collectively you share a common purpose to shape the future of the profession”. Dr Campbell Thomson, Director: Office of Research Enterprise, University of WA.
