Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.
About the role
As the Program Manager, Scholarly Development (Research), you will be responsible for the uplift of research-related scholarly capabilities at the University of Melbourne and the ongoing development and maintenance of a related framework that encompasses areas including digital scholarship, scholarly communication, scholarly publishing, copyright, and research data management planning. You will lead a team that delivers a hybrid program of established and emerging face-to-face and online researcher development, targeted at academic staff and graduate researchers at the University of Melbourne. The program includes the high profile Visualise Your Thesis competition, Research Connect and the Researcher@Library programs.
About you
You strive to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people and building relationships in your workplace. You have the demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders to iteratively calibrate a program of development services, responsive to a diverse set of needs.
You will further have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector or similar environment.
- Expert knowledge of the research lifecycle and key issues in a higher education context, particularly as relevant to researcher development.
- Demonstrated ability to design, facilitate, deliver, monitor and continuously improve a range of researcher development programs and resources in a hybrid face-to-face and online environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, communication and presentation skills, including a demonstrated ability to initiate and establish good working relationships with senior academic staff, students, and professional colleagues.
