Join us for an ARMS-themed Trivia Night celebrating the lighter side of research management. Bring your colleagues together for an evening of connection, laughter and friendly competition, with plenty of opportunities to test your knowledge and enjoy the quirks of our profession. Whether you’re a seasoned research administrator or simply up for a great night out, this event promises team spirit, entertainment and a memorable chance to connect with peers across the sector. Snacks and non-alocoholic drinks will be provided. Cash bar available.

Dr. Bedrich Eckhardt - La Trobe University

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Bedrich Eckhardt is a research management professional and translational scientist with 20+ years in academia and nearly a decade in industry – including commercial and clinical molecular diagnostics, and philanthropy – bringing a broad, cross-sector perspective. Currently Senior Coordinator, Trusts and Foundations in the Advancement and Alumni Office at La Trobe University, Bedrich supports researchers to secure funding and build strategic partnerships. His research management portfolio has included delivering successful pre- and post-award outcomes across Category 1-4 grants, including major initiatives such as the Care Economy Cooperative Research Centre (CRC), spanning government, industry, and philanthropic funding sources. Bedrich’s academic work has centred on the translation of novel diagnostics and therapeutics for breast cancer, particularly in aggressive disease subtypes. Concurrently, he is Co-Founder and Chair of the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network Foundation Australia and serves on the ARMS Victoria Chapter committee, contributing to sector engagement, awareness, and support for research and funding initiatives.

A/Prof Sebastian Dworkin - Trivia Buffs

 

 

 

 

Master trivia host A/Prof Seb Dworkin is a key organiser with Trivia Buffs, bringing his deep passion for knowledge, quick wit, and community fun to the mic for our event. When he is not hosting high-energy quiz nights, Seb leads a vital double life in the lab. By day, he is an accomplished Australian developmental geneticist, academic, and laboratory head at La Trobe University in Melbourne. He serves as a Group Leader within the Department of Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology (MAPP), where his pioneering research focuses on the genetic mechanisms driving embryonic development and congenital disorders.

  • Upon registration your name and organisation will be provided to the chapter convenor or event organiser, to record attendance and manage the event.
  • This event may be photographed and posted to ARMS platforms, if you don’t want to be included in these photographs, please advise the event organiser at the event.

ARMS CANCELLATION POLICY

Should your circumstances change, and you are unable to attend this event, you must contact ARMSMembership@researchmanagement.org.au by no later than 10 working days prior to the commencement of the scheduled event. ARMS will refund the full registration fee minus any administrative fees.

Should you cancel less than 10 working days prior to the commencement of this workshop, no refund will be payable but instead you may wish to send a proxy.

ARMS reserve the right to cancel, postpone or re-schedule courses and events due to minimum numbers not being reached or for other unforeseen circumstances.  In the event of a cancellation, ARMS will aim to advise all participants in writing five (5) days prior to the scheduled event and will refund the full registration fee including administrative charges within 30 days after notification.
