Research Impact & Research Information & Reporting SIG Joint Session - 02 Sep 2025

The ARMS Research Impact SIG & the Research Information & Reporting SIG will be hosting a joint session on the recent ARC consultation - Research Insights Capability (RIC).

The ARC has initiated targeted consultation on the proposed replacement for ERA - Research Insights Capability (RIC): A new approach to research evaluation. To support the move towards RIC, the ARC has published the Research Data Framework, and a PID Action Plan. You can find the consultation questions here. In this upcoming session, Dr. Haroon will present on different aspects of the proposed framework. It will also be an opportunity for the ARMS members to share their thoughts on the consultation.

Dr. Haroon Ahmad - Australian Research Council (ARC)

Dr. Haroon Ahmad is the Assistant Director at Australian Research Council (ARC), where he works on evaluation policies. Prior to this role, Haroon held positions at multiple government departments, including the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Haroon holds a PhD degree from Griffith University, along with master’s degrees from University of Technology Sydney and the University of Queensland. He has a good understanding of Australian academic sector.
