ABOUT THE SIG:
The International Research Collaborations group facilitates information sharing through various means including a forum and other professional development activities.
ABOUT THE SESSION:
This presentation will outline the purpose and objectives of the Australia-New Zealand Science, Research and Innovation Cooperation Agreement and the activities supported under the Treaty. The key objective of establishment of a Trans-Tasman Innovation ecosystem will be discussed in some depth, with particular reference to enhancing research collaboration.
The presentation will also address possible outcomes for New Zealand-Australian research connectivity arising from New Zealand’s Te Ara Paerangi – Future Pathways processes, which are aimed to “create a modern, future-focussed research system for New Zealand. It needs to be adaptable for a rapidly changing future, resilient to changes, and connected; to itself, to industry, to public sector users of research, and internationally.”
